About Us
STEM Camp is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to inspiring youth through hands-on, engaging experiences in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. With multiple operating entities, we require a full-time ( 30-40 hours/week) bookkeeper ideally with experience in Sage Accounting, multi-entity reporting, and not-for-profit financial practices.
This is a growth-focused role, ideal for someone early in their accounting career who is looking to build strong, practical experience in bookkeeping, multi-entity financial management, and not-for-profit accounting. You will be supported through mentorship and training from our existing experienced bookkeeper, who will provide guidance as you develop confidence in the role.
Responsibilities
Core Duties

Full-cycle bookkeeping using Sage Accounting Software

Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing

Assistance with payroll processing (year-round ~10 staff; seasonal ~600 staff)

Monthly bank and credit card reconciliations

Support in preparing monthly financial statements

HST filings (Quarterly and Annual, as applicable per entity)

Inter-company invoicing and reconciliation across multiple entities

Preparation of basic management reports as required

Support with setting up or maintaining payroll or accounting system integrations
Additional Responsibilities

Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and filing systems

Assist with year-end preparation for external accountants

Support government grant tracking and reconciliation (e.g., Canada Summer Jobs)

Review and process staff expense reports

Communicate with internal team members regarding financial documentation and requests

Provide administrative support related to financial operations during peak summer periods
Qualifications
-
Working knowledge of Sage 50 or Sage 300 (or willingness to learn quickly)

0–2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (co-op, internship, or entry-level roles considered)

Basic understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial record keeping

Familiarity with (or interest in learning) Canadian not-for-profit accounting practices

Exposure to payroll, HST filings, or financial reporting considered an asset

Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn

Ability to manage multiple tasks with guidance and support

Good communication skills and responsiveness to team members
Pay: $35,000 - $42,000/year
